Botox: Pros and Cons

Botox (butoloxin) is a drug that disrupts the impulse transfer from the nerve end to the muscle, thereby relaxing it. Initially it was used to treat some types of paralysis, migraine, strabismus and other diseases of the nervous system. But gradually it took a firm place in cosmetology as well. Is it a joke, just one shot of Botox – and wrinkles are smoothed out, and the frowning habit disappears. Most often injections of Botox are used in the forehead, nose bridge and eyes, as in the lower third of the face muscles are too close, and there is a risk of relaxing the wrong muscle. The effect of the procedure lasts on average 3 to 6 months.

Botox: Pros and Cons

As we said above, Botox, thanks to its ability to relax muscles, completely smoothes out fine dynamic wrinkles, while deep wrinkles are less visible. The result appears the day after the treatment and the final effect can be waited for two weeks. Thanks to Botox, the frowning habit disappears. Therefore, even when the product completely dissolves, wrinkles will not appear again for longer.

Unlike plastic surgery, Botox injections cannot leave traces on the body. The procedure is performed with a syringe with a very thin needle, which is injected under the skin strictly at a certain depth. Botox can also be used to get rid of problems such as hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating).
